My first thoughts were along the lines of turning this piece of cherry wood into a slab top or a bench, but the more I think about furniture, I am also seeing more written into the wood as what I call ‘free-form wood art’. As I look at what is there in the wood before me daily while working in my shop, I am thinking of turning this one into a sculptured piece that will stand upright in full stature and say to all, “look at me, I am cherry….”
